Broccoli You Actually Can’t Resist | Spanish Garlic Broccoli
This Spanish Garlic Broccoli, is truly one of the best-tasting broccoli dishes out there. It´s packed with flavor, made with just a couple basic ingredients and comes together in under 30 minutes.
With the technique we´re going to cook the broccoli in, it gives it the most incredible texture and flavor. And let me tell you, with one taste, you will never roast or steam broccoli again.
You can serve this broccoli as a tapas appetizer or even as a side dish. It works great next to some Spanish potatoes and Spanish cod in tomato sauce.
TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: You want to cut the head of broccoli through the stem and not through the florets. This way you end up with beautiful florets and you don´t lose any of the broccoli.
Key Ingredients & Cookware I used in this Recipe:

Spanish Garlic Broccoli | Broccoli You Actually Can't Resist
Ingredients
- 1 head fresh broccoli
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 30 ml
- 1/4 cup vegetable broth 60 ml
- lemon wedges
Instructions
-
Cut the head of broccoli into medium sized florets, add the florets into a colander, rinse under cold running water for 1 to 2 minutes, then add the florets into a discloth, making sure they´re all in a single layer and gently pat dry
-
Heat a large fry pan with a medium-high heat
-
After 4 minutes and the pan is hot, add in 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and the florets of broccoli, mix together so the florets are evenly coated in the olive oil, than place them in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes without mixing
-
After 2 minutes flip the florets to cook the other side, once again you want them in a single layer
-
After a total cooking time of 4 minutes, add in 4 cloves garlic roughly minced and mix together, 30 seconds later add in 1/4 cup vegetable broth and season with sea salt & black pepper, place a lid on the pan and lower the heat to a low-medium
-
After 4 minutes remove the lid, all the broth should be absorbed by the broccoli and the broccoli perfectly cooked, you can always pierce the broccoli with a toothpick, if it easily goes in, it´s ready to go, remove the pan from the heat
-
Transfer the broccoli into a serving dish and garnish with lemon wedges, enjoy!

21 . Nov . 2021This recipe is absolutely delicious. And it’s pretty much fool proof. The directions are perfect and deceptively simple. But the flavor! OMG, I didn’t expect the wow! Broccoli at its best and prepared in a most healthy manner. Every recipe I’ve tried from Spain on a Fork has been a winner!
