AMAZING 10 Minute Patatas Bravas | Authentic Flavors & Easy to Make
Patatas bravas are Spain´s most popular tapas dish, and now you can make them at home in just 10 minutes. Yes you read that correctly, just 10 minutes from start to finish! We´re talking authentic Spanish flavors, super easy to make and made using the simplest ingredients.
The secret to these 10-Minute Patatas Bravas is cooking the potatoes in the microwave. You will need microwave safe bags, which are the same ones as oven bags. You can find them at your supermarket, where they sell the foil paper and cling wrap.
I topped off the potatoes with a very simple garlic mayo aioli and some hot smoked Spanish paprika, to give it that authentic spicy kick. You can veganize this recipe by using a plant based mayonnaise.
TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: It took me exactly 8 minutes to fully cook the potatoes in the microwave (at its strongest setting). But every microwave heats differently. So it might take you 7 minutes or even up to 9 minutes.
Key Ingredients & Cookware I used in this Recipe:
EXTRA VIRGIN SPANISH OLIVE OIL
SPANISH PAPRIKA I USED
MICROWAVE SAFE BAGS

AMAZING 10-Minute Patatas Bravas
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs baby red potatoes 700 grams
- 1/2 cup low fat mayonnaise 115 grams
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp lemon juice 5 ml
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 30 ml
- dash hot smoked Spanish paprika
- pinch sea salt
- dash black pepper
- fresh parsley
Instructions
-
Wash and pat dry the potatoes, then cut into small bite-sized 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thick pieces
-
Add the cut potatoes into a microwave safe bag (I used Reynolds oven bags), along with 1 tbsp (15 ml) extra virgin oive oil, a pinch of sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, seal the bag and mix together so the potatoes are evenly coated, then using a fork pierce the bag all over
-
Add the bag of potatoes into a microwave, at its highest setting, and go between 7 to 9 minutes (mine took 8 minutes to fully cook through)
-
Meanwhile, add the mayonnaise into a bowl, finely grate in the garlic, add the lemon juice, 1 tbsp (15 m) extra virgin olive oil and season with sea salt and black pepper, whisk together and set aside
-
Once the potatoes are cooked through, transfer into a serving dish, add the garlic mayo aioli over the potatoes, sprinkle with a generous portion of hot smoked Spanish paprika and garnish with fresh parsley, enjoy!

I fully intend to make these, as soon as possible. Am living in Florida, U.S.A., and. Just survived a Major Hurricane, , Ian. Things here are very stressful. A long recovery ahead. I find Watching you and listening to your voice, has a very calming effect on me, and probably many others. As soon as I am able to purchase potatoes, I will be making this.
