Irresistible CREAMY Garlic Shrimp | 15 Minute One-Pan Recipe
These creamy garlic shrimp, known as gambas a la crema, are filled with flavors, super easy to make, and done in just 15 minutes. Serve them as a tapas appetizer next to a crunchy baguette, or pour them over some pasta for a complete meal. Either way, it’s the kind of food that will fill you with goodness.

To make this recipe, I used raw red Argentinian shrimp, which I bought frozen and thawed out and were already peeled and deveined. Of course, you can use any type of shrimp you like here. Just make sure to pat them completely dry. This way, they absorb all the flavors in the pan.

For the cream sauce, I used a combination of low-fat milk and homemade vegetable broth. You can use any type of milk you like, as well as chicken broth if you prefer. Either way, make sure the milk is at room temperature when you add it into the pan. Otherwise, it can easily curdle.

TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: It took me about 1 minute per side to fully cook the shrimp. You don’t want to overcook them. Otherwise, they will get a tough texture.

Instructions
-
Heat a large fry pan with a medium heat and add in the olive oil
-
In the meantime, add the shrimp over some paper towels, all in a single layer, and pat dry, then season with salt & pepper
-
Once the oil is nice and hot, add in the shrimp, all in a single layer, and cook for 1 minute per side or until just cooked through, then remove from the pan and set aside

Using the same pan with the same heat, add in the chopped garlic and mix continuously, after 30 seconds, add in the flour and mix continuously for 1 minute, then add in the white wine, oregano, thyme, and crushed red pepper, continue to mix together

After 3 minutes and you've ended up with a paste-like texture and the alcohol has cooked off in the wine, add in the milk and vegetable broth, and gently mix continuously
-
Once you end up with a slightly creamy sauce, about 5 minutes, season with salt & pepper, and mix together, then add the shrimp back into the pan, and mix together, and then simmer for 1 minute, then turn off the heat, add in the grated cheese, and give it one final mix
-
