Incredible 5-MINUTE Garlic Flatbread Recipe
There is nothing better than homemade bread, but in all honesty, it can be a pain in the neck to make. Between kneading the dough, waiting for it to rise and then making sure you bake it correctly, it get´s overwhelming. Now erase all that. I present to you the most Incredible 5-MINUTE Garlic Flatbread Recipe.
This is the real deal folks. These garlic flatbreads have the most amazing flavors, they´re made with basic pantry staples and it only takes 5 minutes of prep work. Now you can have warm fresh bread in a jiffy 🙂 .
My favorite part about these flatbreads, is that you don´t have to bake them. You cook them on a grilling pan over a stove top. This makes it so much easier & quicker, and the bread still has the most amazing texture & flavor. Speaking of flavors, make sure to use a GREAT Olive Oil. This is the base fat of the flatbread and is what really flavors it.
TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: I used all-purpose flour to make these flatbreads, but you can use whole wheat flour or a combination of both. The grilling pan I used heats very quickly and evenly distributes the heat. This means it only takes about 75 seconds per side to cook these flatbreads. If you don´t have a grilling pan, you can use a standard frying pan. However, cooking times will be longer.
Key Ingredients & Cookware I used in this Recipe:
GRILLING PAN
EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
SPANISH SEA SALT

Incredible 5-MINUTE Garlic Flatbread Recipe
Ingredients
FOR THE FLATBREADS
- 2 cups all-purpose flour 240 grams
- 2 tsp baking powder 8 grams
- 1/2 tsp sea salt 2.85 grams
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 30 ml
- 2/3 cup water 168 ml
FOR THE GARLIC SAUCE
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 30 ml
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley 3.80 grams
- 4 cloves garlic
Instructions
-
Add 2 cups all-purpose flour into a large bowl, along with 2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp sea salt, mix the dry ingredients together, then add in 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and 2/3 cup water, mix together until you form a dough, then get in there with your hands and continue to mix & knead until it´s all well combined and you end up with a compact dough, shape it into a ball
-
Sprinkle some all-purpose flour into a clean flat surface, add the ball of dough on top, cut it half and shape each half into a ball, cut each ball of dough into 4 evenly sized pieces, to end up with 8 pieces of dough
-
Heat a large grilling pan with a medium heat
-
While the pan is heating, shape each piece of dough into a flatbread design that is 1/8 of an inch thick
-
Before adding the flatbread into the pan, brush it with a kiss of extra virgin olive oil, then add it into the pan oil side down, brush another kiss of extra virgin olive oil on top, meanwhile, make the garlic sauce, add in 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil into a bowl, along with 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley and shred in 4 cloves garlic, mix until well combined, after about 75 seconds flip the flatbread to cook the other side, then add in a spoonful of the garlic sauce and evenly spread around, after another 75 seconds remove from the pan and transfer to a dish, continue to cook in this method until they are all done, serve at once, enjoy!

Just the recipe I’ve been seeking. Is the dough freezable? I cook for one and I would only need a couple of flatbreads for whatever dish and leftovers that I make. I’d love to be able to pull some dough down and let it thaw and then make fresh flatbread for another meal or would be better off, making all of the flatbreads and then freezing the flatbreads and then warming them up in the oven? Please excuse any typos as I dictate rather than type.

You can freeze the dough if you like, I would just cook all the flat breads and then freeze and heat as needed 🙂 Much love

Want to make this to go with Indian dishes. Do not have grill pan but have iron skillets. Also wondered about using my Forman grill. Which would work best?

22 . Aug . 2020I really like your recipes, and your YouTube appearances! You keep it simple, and delicious! I love breads and made this garlic flatbread recipe and it came out perfectly! Just like in your photos! I did cheat just a little bit: I had a bag of self-rising flour on the pantry shelf, so I used it and it worked most excellently, and made the prep time even shorter. Next time I am going to experiment with using a kiss of garlic oil along with the finely chopped garlic, for maximum garlic attack! Please keep the videos and recipes coming!

Awesome! I asked for a bread recipe, and you gave me a bread recipe!
If you have a recipe for a basic “pan de masa dura” (like you see all around Andalucia), I would love to see that as well 😉
Thanks!
