Spanish Green Beans with Garlic and Paprika
Let´s make green beans great again. Seriously folks, these Spanish Green Beans with Garlic and Paprika are one of the best veggie dishes ever. Loaded with flavors, beyond easy to make and done in about 20 minutes. Serve these green beans as a side dish or even as a tapas appetizer.
The star of this dish is the humble green bean, which is an absolute stunner of a vegetable. Loaded with vitamins & minerals, they are a great source of fiber and they´re low in calories. In this recipe, we grabbed that ordinary green bean and turned into an extraordinary dish.
When I tell you this dish is beyond easy to make, I mean it´s beyond easy to make. Minimal ingredients and done in 20 minutes. Simplicity at its best. Like I always say, sometimes less is more, and with one taste of these Spanish green beans, you´ll find yourself eating green beans all the time 🙂 .
The secret to this simple dish is the smoked paprika, as this is what really flavors the green beans. For this recipe I used Zamouri Spices Sweet Smoked Paprika. This paprika has a beautiful & robust flavor and has the perfect balance of sweetness and smokiness. The smoked paprika is what gives this dish that ¨wow¨ factor.

Spanish Green Beans with Garlic and Paprika
Ingredients
- 1/2 lbs fresh green beans 250 grams
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp sweet smoked paprika
- pinch sea salt
- pinch black pepper
- 1 lemon
Instructions
-
Rinse 1/2 lbs (250g) of fresh green beans under cold running water, shake off any of the excess water and cut off 1/2 inch from each end of each green bean, also thinly slice 5 cloves of garlic
-
Heat a fry pan with a medium heat and add a 1/4 cup of cold water, once the water comes to a light boil add the green beans into the pan and place a lid on top
-
Three minutes after adding the lid remove it, there should be almost no water left in the pan, drizzle in a generous tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and the thinly sliced garlics, mix everything together, continue to mix so the garlics can lightly cook, you don´t want to brown the garlics, just make them fragrant
-
After 2 minutes turn off the heat, add in 1 tsp of sweet smoked paprika and season everything with sea salt & freshly cracked black pepper, mix together until well combined, very important to turn off the heat so the paprika does not get a bitter flavor
-
Transfer the green beans into a serving dish, making sure to grab all the garlics in the pan and garnish with lemon wedges, enjoy!
