The BEST Spicy Garlic Shrimp with a DEEP Garlic Flavor | Easy Recipe
Spain is known for having some amazing seafood dishes and these Spicy Garlic Shrimp are no exception. Packed with an insane amount of garlic flavor, easy to make and done in just 15 minutes. Truly, what classic Spanish food is all about.
This dish is known here in Spain as Gambas al Ajillo Picantes. Typically served as a tapas appetizer, but you can certainly serve them over some pasta or rice for an incredible main course. Either way, serve these shrimp next to a baguette to mop up all that delicious garlic sauce.
What really flavors these shrimp and gives them that spicy kick is the hot smoked Spanish paprika. You can also use chilis here or even chili flakes. But the hot smoked Spanish paprika is what gives these shrimp that authentic Spanish touch and the perfect balance of heat.
TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: I used raw jumbo shrimp that I bought frozen and thawed out. But you can also use fresh shrimp here if you like. Either way, make sure to pat the shrimp down with paper towels to remove any excess water from them. This way they can absorb all the flavors in the pan.
