Homemade FRIED BREAD With CHEESE & ROSEMARY

So I´ve been making a lot of bread recipes lately, blame the lockdown for it. Maybe I´m losing my mind, but if you get creative, making homemade bread can actually be fun and not stressful. This Homemade FRIED BREAD With CHEESE & ROSEMARY is just that.

This stuffed fried bread has an insane amount of flavor, the bread has an incredible golden texture and it´s all done in about 30 minutes. Homemade bread has never looked or tasted better 🙂 .

This recipe uses no yeast & no oven, just basic ingredients and a frying pan. My favorite part about this easy bread recipe, is that you can customize it with any ingredients you want. I chose havarti cheese and rosemary, an incredible combination of yumminess.

TIPS & TRICKS to make this Recipe: When you are sealing the doughs together, make sure you seal them well. Otherwise you risk the cheese oozing out while you are frying the breads. Remember to fry on a MEDIUM heat. This way the dough fully cooks through without burning on the outside.

Key Ingredients & Cookware I used in this Recipe:
MY SWISS DIAMOND FRYING PAN
EXTRA VIRGIN SPANISH OLIVE OIL
SPANISH SEA SALT

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour 360 grams
  • 3 tsp baking powder 14 grams
  • 1 tsp sea salt 6 grams
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 50 ml
  • 1 cup water 235 ml
  • 8 slices white cheese
  • 4 sprigs freshly chopped rosemary
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 70 ml

Instructions

  1. Add 3 cups all-purpose flour into a large bowl, also add in 3 tsp baking powder and 1 tsp sea salt, mix the dry ingredients together, then add in 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and 1 cup water, mix all the ingredients together until well combined, once you form a dough, get in there with your hands and continue to mix until you form a compact dough, knead the dough inside of the bowl between 1 to 2 minutes, then shape into a ball

  2. Sprinkle some all-purpose flour on a cleaned flat surface, add the ball of dough on top, cut the ball of dough in half and shape each piece of dough into a ball, cut each ball of dough into 8 evenly sized pieces, to end up with a total of 16 pieces of dough

  3. Shape each piece of dough into a circular design that is 5 inches in diameter by 1/8 of an inch thick

  4. To assemble, place one slice of white cheese on top of a dough and sprinkle with a generous pinch of freshly chopped rosemary, place another dough on top and seal together, folding the bottom dough over the top dough through the outer edges, then flatten it out with your hands or a roller to ensure that it´s well sealed, continue to do this until you end up with 8

  5. Heat a small fry pan with a medium heat and add in a generous 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil, after 4 minutes place one of the doughs in the pan, cook for 60 to 75 seconds per side, this will ensure that the dough fully cooks through and it will give you a beautiful golden crust, as you finish each one transfer to a dish with paper towels, serve at once, enjoy!
