This Oven Roasted Tofu with Spanish Paprika and Parsley is truly amazing, it´s loaded with flavor, beyond easy to make and done in under 30 minutes. The perfect dish to enjoy on a busy weeknight next to a simple salad for a healthy and delicious meal. For those of you that are not familiar with tofu, it truly is an incredible ingredient, it´s high in protein, low in fat, has zero cholesterol and it´s gluten free. The secret to this recipe is the paprika, make sure you use a good-quality Spanish smoked paprika, it makes all the difference.
– How to Perfectly Roast Tofu –
The first thing to perfectly roasting tofu is to use firm or extra firm tofu, and if you can get it organic even better. Second, you want to roast it at your highest oven setting (mine is 250C – 480F) for exactly 15 minutes. Tofu can easily be overcooked, which gives it an unpleasant texture, 15 minutes is the exact amount of time to get that perfect tofu. Oven Roasted Tofu with Spanish Paprika and Parsley
- 1 8 oz - 250 g block extra firm organic tofu
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sweet smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
Grab 1 block of extra firm organic tofu and cut it in half lengthwise, pat it down with paper towels, pushing down with force to remove any liquid it contains, cut the tofu into 3/4 inch cubes and add to a bowl
Add a generous tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil to the tofu, along with 1/2 teaspoon of sweet smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and a 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, toss together until well combined
Add the tofu to a baking tray lined with foil paper, make sure all the cubes of tofu are in a single layer, add to a preheated oven bake+broil option 250 C - 480 F, after 15 minutes remove from the oven and add to a serving dish, sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley, enjoy!
