Torrijas Recipe – Spanish Cinnamon Toast

– Torrijas Recipe – Spanish Cinnamon Toast –

When Easter comes around, torrijas are found in just about every bakery in Spain. Torrijas are very similar to french toast, expect they are cooked in a different way. This simple torrijas recipe hails from the roman times, and later became popular during the lent days, as people ate torrijas and drank wine, representing the body and blood of Christ. Traditionally, this is not a breakfast dish, even though you could (and should) serve it for breakfast. Watch our video below on how to easily make this Torrijas recipe and celebrate the great flavors of Spain all year-round. Salud!
